yeap you could reset the password using the installation cd. btw which os are you on ? Panther ? Tiger?
If you are still on panther, you can try this w/o the cd.
1)Boot your iBook and press Command+S
2)Type 'ls /Users'
3)Now type 'passwd username' and after press enter it will prompt you for new password.
4) exit and login with the username and new password
i am dun think it works with tiger. if you need the cd, you can always go back to any apple authorized resellers, i am pretty sure they are more than willing to help :)
hye nice blog.. Please try visit my blog too.. just setup at www.melayucentral.com
satkuru..
i've type is /users and this shows up 'command not found'...
weird..
did you type 'ls' in the command ?
cause it's suppose to be 'ls /Users' then it will show the usernames :)

ls :) btw you are running on tiger or panther ?
Im using panther 10.3.9..
when u said is /username izzit that i must type is /abc , (if abc is my username)..?
since you know the username let's say abc, type this:
passwd abc
press enter
it will ask you to enter new password
reboot :)
